Being Healthy

Cornwall School Nurse Service 

Details: for those 0-19 years old (and 25 years old with special educational needs and disabilities).  Offer advice, support, and help with a range of emotional and physical health needs, including: emotional wellbeing, sleep, school attendance, physical health, relationships and sexual health, puberty, healthy eating, continence, safety, and signposting to other services. If you would like to see a School Nurse, you can attend a drop-in session at your school. These provide a safe and confidential space to talk or to find out more contact Chat Health.

Youth Justice Service 

Details: The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Youth Justice Service is responsible for statutory youth justice services. It works with partners to prevent offending and re-offending by children aged 10-17. it also recognises that Children can also be victims of crime. Exploitation 

Details: Exploitation is when a child or adult is controlled by an abuser for the abuser’s own benefit. It is when you are pressurised, forced or tricked into doing something that you do not want to do. This might be having sex, carrying drugs or stealing.  Sometimes it can be more difficult to know or realise because people will trick you into thinking that what is happening is nice, fun, good for you, or that you owe someone so you feel you need to do what they ask. How can I get help? If you think you or a friend are being exploited or abused .

Youth Council

Youth Council

Details: We are a group of young people age 11+ who live or go to school in Cornwall. We create our own campaigns based on statements voted on by young people across Cornwall. We also work with decision makers to ensure children and young people are heard involved and taken seriously in matters that affect them. There are five roles that make up Cornwall Youth Council and they each have different responsibilities. Young people can get involved and look at the website for more information.
