Job Details: We are open 7.30-18.00, Mon-Fri, all year round and we are seeking either a full-time staff member or a couple of part time staff members to join our team.

The role would be permanent, subject to successful probationary period.

Qualifications:

This role is for a qualified practitioner, holding a Level 2/3 or above recognised Early Years qualification.

PFA, Safeguarding and DBS on the update service all desired but not essential.

Hours: Part-time- minimum of 18 per week, between the hours of 8.30-5pm, Monday to Friday

Little Explorers is a warm and welcoming early years setting dedicated to providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. We are currently seeking a Temporary Nursery Assistant to support our team during a busy period.

The Role:
As a Temporary Nursery Assistant, you’ll work alongside our experienced staff to care for and support children’s learning and development. You’ll help create a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment while ensuring the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support daily routines and activities for children aged 0-5
• Engage children in play and learning experiences
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
• Assist with meal times, toileting, and general care routines
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations
• Follow nursery policies, including safeguarding and health & safety

About You:
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and support where needed
• Desirable: Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare, however not essential for the right candidate,
• Desirable: Previous experience working with young children

Your Role: What will you be doing?

As Baby Room Leader, you’ll take the lead in creating a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading, mentoring, and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional care and learning opportunities.
Designing and implementing engaging activities that support each baby’s unique development.
Ensuring the room provides a safe, stimulating, age-appropriate environment, indoors and outdoors.
Building strong, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and professionals to meet every child’s needs.
Maintaining the highest standards of child welfare, safeguarding and health and safety.
Collaborating with colleagues to foster a positive and supportive workplace culture.

Requirements: What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced childcare professional who is ready to make a real impact on the lives of our youngest children. The ideal candidate will have:
• A full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential).
Previous experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as a Room Leader or a senior practitioner role.
A deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding, child protection, Early Years legislation and health and safety.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and families.
A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education for children.

Please note, due to our sector, all roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS and Paediatric First Aid certification. All personnel will be required to subscribe to the DBS Update service once the DBS has been applied for.
